Abstract

Abstract: This article explores phonetic expressive means and stylistic devices as important tools in language and literary expression. Phonetic expressive means include sound-based techniques such as alliteration, assonance, onomatopoeia, rhyme, rhythm, and intonation, which help create emotional coloring, emphasis, and aesthetic effect in speech and writing. Stylistic devices, on the other hand, are deliberate language techniques used to make communication more vivid, persuasive, and memorable. The study examines how phonetic elements contribute to meaning, mood, and imagery in different types of texts, including poetry, prose, advertising, and everyday communication. Special attention is given to the role of repetition and sound patterns in strengthening the listener’s or reader’s response. The article also analyzes examples from English literature to demonstrate how authors use phonetic expressive means for artistic purposes. Understanding these devices is essential for learners, teachers, translators, and literary analysts because they enrich interpretation and improve communicative competence. The findings show that phonetic expressive means and stylistic devices are powerful instruments that enhance expressiveness, emotional impact, and stylistic beauty in language.
